What We believe

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God in every part, the product of Holy men who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The Bible has authority in our lives and shows us how we should live.

We believe there is one God in whom are three eternal, distinct, simultaneous persons-the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. All three are the one God, coeternal, coequal, etc., yet there is only one God–not three gods–and not one person who took three modes, offices, or forms.

We believe that humanity was created in the image of God, but through the transgression and fall of the first man, Adam, sin came into the world. Jesus Christ was was born a human being to undo the work of sin and the devil. Jesus gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore men back to God. Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the Law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

We believe salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone. Eternal life is the reward for those who accept Him, and eternal retribution in hell is the punishment for those who reject Him.

We believe in water baptism by immersion for believers as commanded by our Lord, as a demonstration of the burial and resurrection of Jesus, and through it we identify with him.

We believe in the free-will dedication of children as a commitment of the parents’ faith to raise the child in the knowledge and fear of the Lord.

We believe the Gifts of the Holy Spirit listed in 1 Corinthians 12 and 14 are still operational and available today.

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this time of the Church, and that it is received after one accepts Jesus as their Savior. This experience empowers the believer to be a bold witness for Christ and enables them to begin speaking in tongues (prayer language) for their benefit and that of the church, and to be used to build up the Church by the other gifts of the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the ministry of healing through the laying on of hands and/or anointing with oil.

We believe in the blessing of communion through regular observance of the Lord’s Supper.

We believe in the tithe of the “first fruits” of our income and in the giving of offerings with joy and generosity.

We believe God created sexuality within humanity as male or female.

We believe God created marriage between a man and a woman for life.

We believe life begins at conception, every person is created in God’s image, and every life has value from birth to grave and beyond.

We believe you should come to church and experience God’s love even if you don’t believe everything we do.

We believe you were meant to reach your full potential in life, and we believe that Jesus Christ is building this church to help you reach that goal!
